Planet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Mars

Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Aaron & John

Lunar phase: Crescent - Expansion (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)

The Sun is still in 28 Virgo (in my 1st house): A seeker after occult knowledge is reading an ancient scroll which illumines his mind. (Symbol for 29 Virgo from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)

At about a half hour before Maghrib (Akšam), the Moon will enter my 5th house.

Today I turned my attention back to a piece by John Tavener called Pratirupa. I was looking through the score and realized that it is in 54 sections, which is quite a lot for a 20-something-minute piano piece. As I was washing dishes--intuitions often come to me when I am near water in the house--it occurred to me that Tavener may have structured the piece in the form of a mala, which often contains 54 beads (half of a japa cycle of 108). I have a possible recital program envisioned that has Pratirupa on one half and the piano works of John Luther Adams (non-theistic nature mystic) on the other half.

I'll leave with this father-son duet. It's kind of awkward and rather sweet. Aziz Alili is probably the best known reciter of Qur'an in the Balkans (he's originally from Macedonia, is identified with the general Bosnian cultural scene, and leads the Zagreb Mosque, the largest in Croatia, which is pictured in the video).

Peace,

KH

This is one of my favorite illahis. I do hope you get to go to Bosnia some day. I am in a bit of shock over the synchronicity between my last post and yours here, especially what you wrote about getting your clearest intuition when you are in touch with water, followed by this clip which features a lot of water. I thought of visiting that mosque when I was in Zagreb, but wasn't able to. Water has drawn my attention in many ways but most especially, after seeing this, I thought about a quote I saw recently of the ayat which says Allah created all things from water. peace and many blessings to you. Oh and btw, one of the first things to pop up when I googled John Luther Adams was his song about the ocean.
