Planet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Saturn

Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Abraham

Lunar phase: Crescent - Expansion (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)

The Sun is in 23 Aquarius (in my 6th house): A man, having overcome his passions, teaches deep wisdom in terms of his experience. (Symbol for 24 Aquarius from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)

In the morning, the Moon will enter Taurus (in my 8th house).

Worked at home. My husband had the day off. We ran a couple of errands.

I have been reading about, and listening to, the music of Eisler in preparation for analyzing some of it, and possibly using some of it in one of my classes. I had read about his music before, but I am paying more careful attention in my reading this time, since in the interim I have done more reading in philosophy. I am beginning to think that some of the frustration I have experienced in academia may have to do with the fact that my ancestors two generations about were all laborers, and my parents worked in clerical or technical-managerial fields with high school but not college educations. In other words, some of the conflict and friction I experience (and the way in which I tend to internalize it) may have to do, in part, with issues of social class.

In any event, I have found myself turning away from ideas of trying to smooth out rough edges, cultivate inner peace, etc., and turning toward the idea of facing conflict and experiencing its energy more directly. I think that some of my impatience with therapy and with alternative healing approaches may come from growth on my part in this direction, which is a direction that is typically not recognized by people who are operating in a kind of bourgeois, baby-boomer ideology.

Peace,

KH
