Planet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Moon

Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Adam

Lunar phase: Full Moon - Fulfillment (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)

The Sun is in 5 Taurus (in my 8th house): Cantilever bridge across a deep gorge. (Symbol for 6 Taurus from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)

Lunar mansion (according to Ibn 'Arabi): 20, begins at 4Sa17, The Water, letter Sin, The Life-Giver (Al-Muhyiy)

In the afternoon, the Moon will enter my 4th house.

This past morning, I went to the Sufi book discussion. People there tend to substantiate their points by referring to things such as meditation and martial arts, but not to specifically Islamic practices. One point of discussion was about developing awareness in the moment. I was thinking of the process of assembling lines for prayer and of being aware of one's position within the physical space of the prayer, with people looking to make sure that the lines are complete and straight. I didn't say anything, however, because I didn't want to appear too Islamic for the Sufis I was was (if that makes any sense). In fact, I think that comment would make a lot of sense to a number of people who have spent any time in American Sufism, whether it declare itself Islamic or universalist.

I decided to reincorporate info regarding the lunar mansions here (see above). In reading from the Qur'an this evening (which I have been doing a few verses at a time as I feel the inclination, listening first to recitation in Arabic, stumbling through reading the Arabic myself, listening again to the recitation, then moving on to read through a Bosnian translation, and finally Mohammad Asad's English translation), one of the verses I read was 9:116: "Verily, God's alone is the dominion over the heavens and the earth; He [alone] grants life and deals death; and there is none besides God who could protect you or bring you succor." The name as given above for the current lunar mansion is Al-Muhyiy, but a rough transliteration of the relevant portion of the verse I read is yuhiy wa yumiit. If one were to associate these terms with tranditional Names, they would be Al-Muhyiy and Al-Mumiit. In Esad Duraković's translation, this verse is: "Allah posjeduje sve što je na Nebesima i na Zemlji; On život daje i usmrti, a vama je Allah prijatelj i pomagač jedini."
