Planet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Moon

Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Adam

The Sun is in 22 Leo (in my 12th house): In a circus the bareback rider displays her dangerous skill. (Symbol for 23 Leo from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)

The Moon is at 11Cap15 (in my 4th house). Lunar mansion (according to Ibn 'Arabi): 22, The Minerals, letter Ẓā, The Precious (Ash-Sharīr)

Lunar phase: Gibbous - Overcoming (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)

About a half hour before midnight, Venus will transit my natal Pluto (in my 12th house). In the morning, the Moon will enter my 5th house.

My husband and I spent our National Gay Uncle's Day by going to his grandneice's baptism. This particular parish did not represent the Catholic Church very well. A 75-year-old deacon and an elderly, somewhat infirm priest were in charge of the mass. During his homily, the elderly priest denounced the Supreme Court of the United States and then went on to speak of the governor of our state in derogatory terms, claiming that the governer is a false Catholic for allowing two gay men to marry in the state capitol, and even going so far as to say that the governor should be excommunicated from the Church.

I was incensed, and almost walked out. Had it not been so hot out, I might have walked to my husband's sister's house and waited for the others to arrive back home (as we had come in her car, so I didn't I have my own car at that church). Instead, I sat through the rest of the mass in protest, refusing to participate in any of the prayers or the hymns.

During the day I have been thinking of where I might go with this incident from here. I have considered writing a carefully worded email to the pastor of the parish (who, I believe, was not present at the mass), to the archbishop, to the governor's office (reporting what was said, and also thanking the governor for his support of the LBGT community), and to the national offices of two support organizations for LGBT Catholics.

I will still on it and see if I feel similarly tomorrow.

Peace,

KH
