The Opening Prayer (from Ibn 'Arabi's Awrad al-usbu')

Planet: Jupiter

Prophet: Moses

Moon phase: Full - fulfillment

The Sun is in 13 Gemini: Bridging physical space and social distinctions, two men communicate telepathically (Sabian symbol for 14 Gemini)

The Moon is in its 22nd mansion, which extends from 0 Capricorn to 12 Capricorn 51. This is the first mansion within the fourth seven-fold cycle of the 28 mansions.

In Ibn 'Arabi's listing, the 22nd mansion signifies The Minerals, whose letter is ظ and whose Divine Name is The Precious, الشَّرِيرُ.

In the traditional Arabic system, the 22nd mansion is known as Adh-Dhabih, The Fortune of the Sacrificer. Its keywords are escape from limitation, liberation from constraint, swift flight, deliverance, healing energy. Its image is that of a man with wings on his feet, bearing a helmet on his head. The angel of this mansion is Geliel.

With the exception of the lunar phases, I have limited my listing of transits to conjunctions (i.e., those in which the same degree of the zodiac is occupied by both bodies). There are no transits or ingresses (i.e., entrances into signs or houses) on my list for today.

I experienced an increase of clarity and some lifting of my mood during and after the fast for 15 Sha'ban. This past day, I met with the Iranian graduate student to discuss ways in which he could develop his paper on Persian classical music further.

It would be wonderful to go into the esoteric symbolism behind the signs he assigns to each mansion. thanks for the invocations also, I try to pray İbn Arabi's prayers regularly.

From what I can tell, Ibn 'Arabi's associations appear to be an overlay on top of a pre-existing system of omens associated with the lunar mansions. His descriptions articulate a series of emanations, culminating in a return to Source. His ascription of an Arabic letter to each mansion seems to reinforce the notion of Creation consistent with the Qur'an and the Divine Names. I'm not sure if the selection of Divine Names is consistent with the 28 that are associated with Jerrahi order or if there are differences.
