Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Moses
The Sun is in 23 Cancer (in my 11th house): After a shipwreck, a man and a woman are setting up camp. A third survivor appears--and expert woodsman--who begins to tell them the best way to proceed. (Symbol for 24 Cancer from Martin Goldsmith, The Zodiac by Degrees, 2nd ed.)
The Moon has passed through the 2nd decan of Cancer (moving from my 10th into my 11th house): isolated intellectual growth; piecing together a comprehensive world-view. The Moon is now in the 3rd decan of Cancer (in my 11th house): living out a romantic dream; romantic, sentimental. (Keywords from Martin Goldsmith, Moon Phases: A Symbolic Key)
The Sun and Moon are in their 28th phase (the Moon is between 10 and 0 degrees behind the Sun): The Prophet. A bearded man dressed in filthy animal skins approaches a farming community situated at the confluence of two river valleys. Looking into the Sun, he makes out haystacks and buildings. Coming closer, he sees a man reaping with a scythe, while others winnow, plow and sow. (Symbol from Goldsmith, Moon Phases)
In the morning, the Moon will enter Leo (in my 11th house). In the late afternoon, it will transit my natal North Node (also in my 11th house).
Although I had planned to spend most of the day on reading and taking notes (toward the end of writing program notes for my recital), I ended up cleaning my bathroom and also the kitchen floor (which was long overdue). Perhaps something impelled me to get these things in before the end of Ramadan.
The New Moon (in late Cancer) will occur in about an hour. With an extra day for the crescent to be visible, Shawwal (Ševval) will begin with the sunset following this one.
