Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Abraham
Lunar phase: New Moon - Emergence (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)
The Sun is in 21 Leo (in my 12th house): An elegant woman, dressed in white, descends a staircase into a party. Scoping out the petty games, she glides towards her own crowd and makes some wry but insightful observations. (Symbol for 22 Leo from Martin Goldsmith, The Zodiac by Degrees, 2nd ed.) A carrier pigeon fulfilling its mission. (Symbol for 22 Leo from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)
Less than a half hour after Maghrib (Akšam), Mars transited my natal North Node (in my 11th house). Overnight, the Moon will enter Virgo (in my 12th house). At Zuhr (Podne), the Moon will transit my natal Uranus (in my 12th house).
I went to jum'ah this week. I skipped the previous week, as I wasn't in the mood to be around people and something was bothering my intestines. It felt really good to be back. The regular imam was back. While his style is a little pedantic, he's got very clear diction and the content of his khutbas (so far as I can tell) focuses on personal devotion and ethics. His delivery is even and mellow, and he is never shrill or harsh. I don't know much about the regional Bosnian accents, but my guess is that he has a standard urban accent, if not from Sarajevo, then from one of the other larger cities or towns.
In the late afternoon, my husband and I went to New Haven to pick up a friend of his from the train station. She is a German national (now with dual German and American citizenship) who majored in American Studies at university (in Germany). They are friends from the year when my husband was studying in Freiburg. We had dinner at a Moroccan garden café in New Haven. (I left my prescription sunglasses there, but I called after I got home and they have them. I'll pick them up on Sunday after we drop his friend off at the train station.)
I have been monitoring the transits, progressions, etc., of planets to my solar return chart, beginning three months in advance of the solar return, which is typically considered to be a reasonable "phasing-in" period. So far I haven't noticed much that is remarkable. It turns out, however, that in setting up an appointment with an attorney to have estate and medical documents updated, the date we settled on is next Tuesday. That date would have been my mother's 79th birthday. It is also the day when retrograde Pluto transits the position that it will occupy in my solar return chart for the coming year. In accordance with the Plutonian theme of that transit, the attorney who drew up the original documents passed away (at the age of 52) since we last met with her in 2011. I discovered this recently by looking up her practice online and then happening to run across her obituary. The purpose of our meeting with the new attorney will be to discuss shared finances and who will inherit them when either or both of us passes (also Plutonian themes).
