The Sun is in 5 Virgo (in my 12th house): A merry-go-round. (Symbol for 6 Virgo from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala) A man and a woman playing together, with fruits, flowers, and wine upon a table beside them. (Symbol for 6 Virgo from The Degrees of the Zodiac Symbolized, Sepharial's set)
Early in the morning, the Moon will enter Pisces (in my 6th house). Later in the morning, the Moon will transit my natal Jupiter (in my 6th house). In the afternoon, the Moon will enter its Full phase, whose keyword is Fulfillment. A few minutes after that, the Moon will transit my natal Chiron (in my 6th house).
Faculty retreat was during the past day. I got through it. There was a session on sexuality and gender that was meant to increase faculty and staff awareness and sensitivity regarding (especially) non-conforming students. It was led by an African-American lesbian who is quite spirited. (I posted an interview with her from a few years ago on FB this evening.)
A couple of musical things.today. I had been thinking about a piano piece by John Tavener called Pratirupa. There is a solo piano version (for which I have the score and recording) as well as a version for piano and strings. I was able to find that version as a download-only track. It was interesting to revisit his work, after having been away from it for a while. I also browsed through a biography of him that I have had on my shelf for a few years. The author deals somewhat critically with Tavener's interest in Traditionalist writers, and with Schuon in particular. That should make for interesting reading.
The other musical thing was that I had written to the person who manages Bosnian singer Armin Muzaferija's FB page because I have been unable to figure out where to purchase Armin's latest CD online. I heard back today, and the page manager asked for my address, as Armin will be touring the US next month. I had recently seen mention of Chicago at the end of next week. I'm hopeful that there will be a New York stop, which would be more feasible for me.
I'll end with the vid for the opening track from the album:
