Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Adam
Lunar phase: Gibbous - Overcoming (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)
The Sun is in 4 Libra (in my 1st house): A man revealing to his students the foundation of an inner knowledge upon which a "new world" could be built. (Symbol for 5 Libra from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)
Later this evening, the Moon will enter its Full Moon phase, which will be a lunar eclipse. The keyword for the Full Moon is Fulfillment. In the morning, the Moon will enter my 8th house.
I enjoyed the time that I took to focus on some of my interests yesterday. This past morning, I went to the Sufi discussion group that I had been attending when possible. (I had previously mentioned that there were some queer people there. I only saw them there once, and after requesting to join their local progressive Muslims group on Facebook, I didn't receive a response. A similar thing happened to the wife of the man who leads zikr and the discussion group. It appears that the person or people in charge are just not maintaining the Facebook group very well.)
Although I was going to be strict about not looking at university email this weekend, I did have it open a few times and was able to answer a student's question. The Iranian student who did an independent study with me wrote this past afternoon to request a meeting with me for tomorrow. I suspect he wants to try to pressure me about the B I gave him on his paper. I decided not to reply to him until I have a chance to scan his paper with my comments on it. The paper, even in its revised form, was still very rough. Once I have scanned the paper, I will have something to show to his advisor or my department head, in case he tries to make an issue of my grading. It may not come to that, but if he does try to pull something, I have already considered that I would document the situation and discuss disciplinary action with the graduate school. So, I won't respond to his email until I am good and ready to do so.
