Until very early in the morning, the Moon was in its 28th mansion, which extends from 17 Pisces 8 to 0 Aries. This is the seventh mansion within the fourth seven-fold cycle of the 28 mansions.

In Ibn 'Arabi's listing, the 28th mansion signifies The Hierarchization of the Degress of Existence, not their Manifestation, whose letter is و and whose Divine Name is The One Who Elevates by Degrees, رَفِيعُٱلدَّرْجَاتُ.

In Ibn 'Arabi's listing, the 1st mansion signifies The First Intellect, The Pen, whose letter is أ and whose Divine Name is Divine Essence, الْبَدِيعُ.

In the traditional Arabic system, the 1st mansion is known as Ash-Sharatain, or The Two Signals. Its keywords are Divine Mind, primal transmission and the power of creation/destruction, active energy and dynamic force. Now that I'm free of the grind of the academic year and have some time to at least begin to think about some of the projects I'd like to work on, I feel scattered and overwhelmed by all of the loose ends I see around me. Nonetheless, I'm trying to find ways to chip away at the things I'm trying to accomplish. Today I will go to New Haven to see a college friend I haven't seen since the late 80s or early 90s.

In Ibn 'Arabi's listing, the 2nd mansion signifies The Guarded Table, The Universal Soul, whose letter is ہ and whose Divine Name is The One Who Calls Forth, الْبَاعِثُ.

In the traditional Arabic system, the 2nd mansion is known as Al-Butain, or The Little Belly. Its keywords are Universal Soul, serene sovereign power, reconciliation and pacification. Its image is that of a crowned king. The angel of this mansion is Enediel.

About a half hour ago, the Moon entered my 8th house.

It was good catching up with my college friend today. She has always been something of a free spirit, well possessed of the gift of gab. By the end of the day, I was happy to return to my home, my books, and my projects. I finished reading Berardi's book and am now turning my attention to some of Rudhyar's writings. Through Berardi, I feel that I got a clearer sense of where Guattari was coming from. Guattari, who is probably best known for his collaborations with Deleuze, was an associate of Berardi's, and Berardi clearly holds him in high esteem. Through reading the beginning of Deleuze and Guattari's A Thousand Plateaus, I had noted that some of Rudhyar's conceptual apparatus was similar to theirs, although their work is more elegant and more daring, theirs being professional philosophy while Rudhyar's was an expression of personal convictions by a multi-faceted artist (musical and visual) and writer. When I was on campus the other day, I took out a copy of Deleuze and Guattari's Anti-Oedipus. Berardi's book led me to believe that I might find it more approachable than the all-but-unreadable (to me, anyway) A Thousand Plateaus.
