Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Moses
Lunar phase: Last Quarter - Re-orientation (Phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)
The Sun is in 12 Pisces (in my 6th house): An ancient sword, used in many battles, is displayed in a museum. (Symbol for 13 Pisces from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)
A few minutes before zora/sabah (fedžr), the Moon will enter Capricorn (in my 4th house).
The plot thickened a little bit this past day. I received an email from one of my colleagues (my former faculty mentor), informing the faculty within my area of a forthcoming campus visit and presentation by a distinguished scholar in our field. Either communication has been lacking, or perhaps I missed something (although I rarely do), but I didn't know about this until after I committed to going to NYC on the same day. I'm on sabbatical, so needn't feel guilt-obligated to attend campus events anyway, but our area is small and one of the senior colleagues has begged off of attending the presentation. The colleague who sent the announcement suggested dinner on campus the evening before, when the guest will already have arrived, but the one senior colleague I just mentioned plus another senior colleague cited health reasons for not being able to attend the dinner. Although I am deeply resentful that I so often feel called upon to make our department look better than it really is, I wrote to my colleague and offered to attend the dinner, but I also expressed my reservations about that since I won't be able to attend the presentation. I haven't heard back from him yet.
Meanwhile, the composer and pianist who invited me to attend his concert in NYC is very happy that I am planning to attend, and once again mentioned the possibility of my being included in a recording project devoted to the music of a historically important composer on whose music we have both worked.
