Prophet of the day (according to Ibn 'Arabi): Abraham
The Sun is in 7 Capricorn (in my 4th house): In a sun-lit home domesticated birds sing joyously. (Symbol for 8 Capricorn from Dane Rudhyar, An Astrological Mandala)
The Moon is at 9Lib58 (in my 1st house). Lunar mansion (according to Ibn 'Arabi): 15, The Fifth Sky, Sky of Venus and House of Joseph, letter Rā, The Form-Giver (Al-Muṣawwir)
Lunar phase: Last Quarter - Re-orientation (phase names and keywords from Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle)
About 4 hours ago, the Moon entered its Last Quarter phase, whose keyword is Re-orientation. In about 2.5 hours, Mercury will transit my natal Moon (in my 4th house). About 30 minutes after that, the Moon will enter my 2nd house.
Today is the 11th anniversary of my mother's death. She would have been 82 if she had survived until now.
I had some insomnia during the night before last. Nonetheless, I remained active all day instead of taking a nap. I slept much better last night.
Having reviewed the first movement of Rudhyar's Autumn, I scanned my annotated score so that I could read it from my tablet. Since I hadn't used the tablet for a few months, I needed to take some time to download and install some updates. Although I didn't practice yesterday, I hope that the time I spent setting up the score in the tablet will turn out to have been worthwhile.
I attended džuma (for the second week in a row in pouring rain), and that was good.
My main project yesterday was completing a list of theses and dissertations produced by master's and doctoral students in my program. Over the last 10 years, they produced 60 theses and dissertations. As I was compiling the list, I was reminded that faculty do not receive teaching-load credit for advising theses and dissertations. It makes me feel exhausted just to think of it.
