OK, so I "forgave" the cousin whose comment I didn't like on FB. Of course, I always "overreact" and "take things the wrong way." (After being told this many too many times, my compromise on this issue is to let self-serving idiots characterize my "reactions" any way they want. If they don't understand the context for my anger--either because they're too stupid or too selfish to be bothered to even try--it's not my problem. I just take their self-serving excuses as indications that they refuse to grow in directions that would suit me better. My responses to events in my life are perfectly reasonable when understood in their proper contexts. It's just that such understanding is evidently beyond the reach of practically everyone I know.)
Anyway, his next grand pronouncement on life was to announce what he had grilled for dinner the other night, and the most recent one was that he is replacing his 1987 Mercedes with a 1988 Mercedes.
I guess I deserved to be slapped down with a comment to the effect that I should post personal news (such as the above) instead of, for example, an AlterNet article about Newt Gingrich's race baiting. Yeah, I guess I'm just not properly American middle class. Oh, well, FML.
