I had a full day on campus today, and decided to treat myself to a mocha at a Starbucks away from campus, one town over from where I live. I went there last Friday and burned through a bunch of quizzes pretty quickly, so I thought I might like to go there again in order to get a jump on my work.

I got a little bit done, but I ended up chatting with a guy who was hanging out there. We probably talked for about an hour and a half or so. He's a straight guy, has done some video and audio editing work on the West Coast, has also worked as a bartender, etc., and is trying to find some work around here. He forgot the power cord for his iPhone, but he had a USB cable, so I let him plug it into my computer.

It almost never happens that strangers fall into conversations at cafes around here. It has also been years since I have hung out and talked with a guy about whatever. It was really enjoyable. It helps me to understand why I enjoyed hanging out with Amma devotees when those were the people who were available and interested in hanging out.

I gave him my website address so he could check out the recording of my website. It has my work contact info on there. I'll probably never hear from him, but I wish him well as he tries to get settled here (which is where he grew up).

It's nice to know that kind of thing can happen once in a while.
